Hi, my name is Simone.

I'm 49 years young and I've been welcoming children into my home for over 10 years now. I'm a very open and relaxed person and I love a good chat.

I have 4 children of my own ranging in age from 14-29 yrs. This year we have also welcomed another child into our family who is 15 yrs old... with 4 still at home it's a full house!

The most important thing for me is that your child feels loved and at home here, and my home becomes like an extended family while they are away from theirs each day. With family day care only being a small group of children they're given the opportunity to form strong bonds with each other and myself. I love knowing that each child feels the security of familiarity as I say hello in the morning and good-bye in the afternoon. This is only possible in family day care and that's why I love family day care so much.

I have a range of activities available for the children each day, these could be developmentally directed, child interest, themed or just free play, depending on how each child would like their day to go.

I practice a play based learning approach where learning opportunities are taken advantage of as children play and interact with the world around them, so even if they are 'just playing' they are learning too.

When you come to collect your child I will give you a quick rundown on what's happened during the day.

Each parent is sent pictures including a description of what their child has been up to during the week. Each child will also have a developmental program designed just for them and with this in mind, you will, at times be sent an extra write up on something your child has achieved including a description of what learning has occurred.

Every 6 months you will be given a summary of your child's time here, what they have learnt / learning currently, their likes/dislikes and what I hope to help them achieve over the next 6 months.
