Shire of Mundaring’s Scorecard results are now available on our website, following workshops where community members prioritised actions for Council’s consideration in the 2024 Council Plan and annual budget.

Shire President Paige McNeil welcomed the results and thanked over 3,000 residents for providing feedback and ideas that will help shape the future of the Shire of Mundaring.

“I’m excited to share that 97% of particpants agree that the Shire of Mundaring is an outstanding place to live,” she said.

"The significant rate of response demonstrates our community’s active level of engagement and will play a key role in Council setting the future direction of the Shire of Mundaring.”

Highlights

Top performing areas highlighted by residents include the Shire’s libraries, emergency management, and sport and recreation facilities and services. This reflects Councils commitment to these three areas in the past, which will continue to be a strong focus of the Shire of Mundaring into the future.

The survey responses also highlights the communities desire for a continued investment in environmental management with an increased focus on verge maintenance and street trees as well as greater attention to youth and senior services.

Areas of opportunities included showcasing our arts, culture and tourism through festivals and destination marketing, particularly in the Town Centre, to stimulate local economic development and job creation.

Next steps

Subsequent to receiving the community scorecard feedback, Council has held a number of community forums which will assist to further inform Council on the priority areas, and more importantly the specific actions that can be undertaken by the Shire to address community needs.

President McNeil said the Scorecard will help Council develop a plan for the future that truly reflects our community’s priorities and delivers on community expectations.

“I will be excited to share with the community the specific actions identified to take our community into the future, once they are agreed on by Council.”

The Shire’s new Council Plan is expected to be finalised in July 2024.
