The objective of the procurement audit is to assess whether purchases of goods and services are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, Shire policies and procedures, and sound purchasing principles and practices.

The procurement audit is to evaluate the capacity of systems, policies, procedures and practices of the Shire of Mundaring to effectively prevent, identify and respond to misconduct in procurement practices. Any specific governance weaknesses relating to procurement are to be identified.
