Wednesday 4th March 2026

Ever wondered what bird is calling from the tree-tops in your local park or reserve or perching near you? Join us for this dynamic talk and learn how to recognise the birds by their behaviour, calls and darn good looks! And as a bonus learn where specific birds hang out.

Whether they are robins, parrots or birds of prey, there is no shortage of beautiful and fascinating birds in the Shire of Mundaring and plenty of parks and reserves to find them in. But what are they and where – find out in this action-packed, beautifully illustrated and very informative talk from our two enthusiastic bird boffins, Rachel and Mike Green. It will include never before seen photos and videos taken in parks and reserves throughout the Shire. They also promise not to be boring!

Rachel and Mike are the authors of A Guide to the Birds of Broz Park, and their bird garden was featured on the ABC's Gardening Australia TV programme in August 2025 and in September's Gardening Australia Magazine. Their work on waterbirds also featured in the Spring edition of Landscope magazine.

Bring any bird photographs or calls you want identified and be prepared to learn lots. Their talks book out quickly, so get your seat now.

Bookings are essential for this free event via Humanitix. Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own keep cup for tea/coffee or water.

Please let us know if you have any access requirements.
