Friday 20th March 2026
(For adults)
Elder Rights WA (Legal Aid) will discuss the living arrangements for older people and the important things to consider when entering into such an arrangement.
Shared living arrangements can be highly beneficial for people as they age. Connection with family, reduced household costs, and maintaining independence for longer are highly motivational factors. However, the risks of options such as granny flats and multi-generational homes can leave older people vulnerable to housing and financial insecurity. For many people, their home is their only major asset, so it is crucial to consider how they can protect their interests, even in the context of a strong family relationship.
There will be time for Q&A.
