Visible Mending Workshop

(For adults)

Learn how to give your clothes a new lease on life and reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill.

Whether you’re new to stitching or a more experienced stitcher, wanting to practice and build on your existing skills, this workshop is open to everyone.

In this interactive session, we’ll look at examples of visible mending, and cover different terminology and techniques, and discuss mending ideas for individuals to work on repairing or embellishing their garments

Materials supplied:

·    All workshop materials (including Sashiko needle and thread)

·    Basic Visible mending notes

·    Ideas and inspiration from not only your facilitator Elise, but from the people sitting in the room with you - you’ll find this part invaluable!

Bookings are essential for this event via Humanitix. Tickets are $20 each. Places are limited.

Please note that refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 2 working days prior to the event.

Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own cup for tea/coffee or water.

Please let us know if you have any access requirements.

About Hoop Hoop Hooray: Hoop Hoop Hooray was started by Elise as a hobby business over 8 years ago because of her love of embroidery and her desire to share her passion with others. With a background in education, she is an experienced, friendly, and patient teacher who has run numerous embroidery workshops with people of all ages and ability.

Due to the resurgence in mending as a response to the growing sustainability movement, Elise has been involved in facilitating Visible Mending workshops across Perth. Her aim is to normalise mending and build a community to inspire others, to save textiles going into landfill.
