Help Shape the Future of Aquatic Services

Published on Tuesday, 17 February 2026 at 2:06:28 PM

The Shire is undertaking an Aquatic Centre Feasibility Study and Business Case to guide future decisions about aquatic services.

This study is assessing options to improve and diversify aquatic services and understand what this means for existing facilities.

There are currently three aquatic facilities in the Shire:

  • Bilgoman Aquatic Centre

  • Mt Helena Aquatic Centre

  • Wooroloo Swimming Pool

Bilgoman and Mt Helena are managed by the Shire. Wooroloo Swimming Pool operates independently with financial support from the Shire.

All facilities operate seasonally and provide important recreational and community services.

Through this study, we are reviewing current facilities, usage levels, operational constraints and future community needs. This includes exploring whether expanded services, including longer or year-round operations, may be viable.

We are seeking feedback from the entire community — including both users and non-users — to understand:

  • What improvements should be considered

  • Whether new facilities or services are needed

  • Which elements would deliver the greatest benefit to residents

Your feedback will help Council make informed decisions about future investment.

The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. We value your input and encourage you to participate.
