How to Attract More Birds to Your Garden with Rachel and Mike Green

Discover the best plants, food sources, and safety measures that attract and support a variety of garden bird species in the local area. Learn practical tips for providing food, shelter, and water to make your garden a haven for all sorts of different birds.

This high energy, informative talk, given by local bird enthusiasts and habitat gardeners, Rachel and Mike Green, will be packed with tips on how to increase the number and types of birds visiting your garden, whatever its size. Watch beautiful bird garden photographs and videos, discover local bird-attracting plants that provide all-year round food, and find inspiring ways to make safe havens for nesting birds. You’ll even be able to try out the “What do birds need to nest?” quiz!

Rachel and Mike’s current bird garden was featured on the ABC’s Gardening Australia TV show in August 2025 and in an 8-page spread in Gardening Australia magazine in September 2025. In less than four years they have successfully turned a small barren garden with only two bird species into a thriving bird habitat, now with over 44 species. Their previous larger garden had 69 bird species. What they do works!

A study has shown that the number of bird species people see in their gardens is directly related to their happiness levels. Join us and get a happiness boost.
