Whether you’re writing a bio, pitching a project, applying for a grant or just introducing yourself, talking about your work can feel surprisingly difficult.

This practical workshop helps participants step back from the detail of what they do and identify the thread connecting their experience, interests and ideas. By understanding what it all adds up to, participants develop a clearer and more natural way of talking about themselves and their work.

In this workshop, you will:

• Identify the thread running through your work and experience
•  Explore what makes your perspective distinctive
• Develop language for bios, introductions, pitches and applications
• Learn a practical framework you can continue using after the workshop 
• Begin building a portfolio to capture useful stories, examples and insights.

About the Facilitator: Former national TV journalist Sherene Strahan has spent her career helping people connect with ideas that matter. Her work has taken her from the ABC and Nine News to National Geographic shark documentaries. Today she helps people explain who they are, what they do and why it matters through Professional Narrative workshops and consulting.

Access and Parking:

• There is a small on-site carpark to the right of the main house. 
• If that fills up, there is also ample verge and street parking along Old York Road. 
• For overflow parking, please follow the long gravel driveway immediately to the left of the main house. This leads to a larger parking area behind the property
• Please drive slowly and arrive ten minutes early to allow time to park and settle in.
