Saturday 14th November 2026
You are warmly invited to the book launch of Everything, Singing - a first collection of poems by Elizabeth Lewis.
Elizabeth will be in conversation with her friend and writing industry colleague Jess Gately.
"Reading Elizabeth Lewis’s debut collection Everything, Singing is like turning a corner to see the ocean or stepping into a forest of birdsong; it reminds us of the world’s magnificence, and of our good fortune to be part of it. These poems are abundant in joy and compassion, in reverence, gratitude, love. They both embody and transcend, and her choices in diction, image, meter are exquisite and resonant." - Marcella Polain
Books will be available for purchase on the day courtesy of the publisher 5 Islands Press.
Bookings are essential for this free event via Humanitix. Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own cup for tea/coffee or water.
Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.
About the author: Elizabeth Lewis lives, writes and listens to birdsong in the Perth Hills, WA. Her poems have been published widely in literary journals and anthologies and have been highly commended in the Poetry D’Amour and Tom Collins poetry prizes. Elizabeth chaired the Katharine Susannah Prichard (KSP) Writers' Centre for a number of years and loves being part of the local writing community. In her day job she works in libraries, hosting author in-conversations and encouraging reading of all kinds; and in her spare time, she tours the local parks with her husband and her dog Bertie. Everything, Singing is her debut poetry collection.
About the interviewer: Jess Gately is an avid book fan, former editor, current bookseller at Boundless Books and publishing administrator for Night Parrot Press. She never considered herself a poetry person until she tried Elizabeth’s online Poetry Pages class and discovered a genuine love of poetry.
