Shire of Mundaring is pleased to celebrate the significant and outstanding contribution of community members by accepting nominations for Shire of Mundaring Citizenship Awards 2027. The recipients will be invited to a morning ceremony on Australia Day, Tuesday 26 January 2027, where they will be presented with the Shire of Mundaring Australia Day Citizenship Award 2027.
Junior Citizen (up to 15 years)
Young people (individual or group) who, through their volunteering activities, have made a meaningful contribution to the local community.
Criteria
- Contribution reflects commitment and effort appropriate for their age.
- Activities enhance community life, wellbeing, or inclusion.
- Demonstrates respect, inclusivity, and positive behaviour.
*Nominee must be 15 years or younger.
Young Citizen (16-30 years)
Young people (individual or group) who through their volunteering have made a significant contribution to the local community.
Criteria
- Significant community contribution in a volunteer capacity.
Demonstrates integrity, respect, and positive behaviour.
Acts as a positive example for other young people.
Evidence of positive outcomes for individuals, groups, or the broader community.
*Aged 16-30 years
Inspirational Volunteer
Individual or group who through their volunteering role have made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
Criteria
- Outstanding community contribution in a volunteer capacity.
- Serves as an inspirational role model.
- Encourages community participation and leadership.
- Demonstrates integrity, respect, inclusivity and positive behaviour.
- Demonstrated community involvement across the local government area.
- Activities enhance community life, wellbeing, or inclusion.
Access Mundaring
Recognises an individual or group, who, through their volunteering efforts, makes a difference to create a more accessible and inclusive local community.
Criteria
- Demonstrates tangible actions that improve access and inclusion.
- Raises awareness of accessibility and inclusion issues.
- Collaborates and partners with local organisations, businesses, or community groups to achieve access and inclusive outcomes.
- Strengthens social cohesion.
Long Service
An individual or group who through their volunteering have been community champions and continuously served the local community for in excess of ten years.
Criteria
- Sustained community contribution over 10 years in a volunteer capacity.
- Community role model.
- Acts as an example of integrity, leadership, and dedication.
- Demonstrated community involvement and commitment to improving community life.
- Provides guidance and encouragement to younger generations.
- Contribution spans multiple projects or areas of need.
- Delivers meaningful outcomes which may include improved wellbeing, social cohesion, or enhanced services.
