The new and improved car park at Brown Park is now complete and open, making it easier for the community to access events, sport, and local facilities.

The upgraded 75-bay carpark provides safer, more accessible parking for people visiting Brown Park Oval and the Bruce Douglas Pavilion, community centre and surrounding facilities. It will help reduce congestion during busy periods and make attending large community events more convenient for families, volunteers, players and spectators.

The additional bays also support local sporting clubs by providing more reliable parking close to the action, improving the overall experience for both participants and visitors.

As part of the works, more than 2000 tonnes of existing clay were removed and reused across other community projects.

The material was repurposed for the base and start mound at the upcoming Glen Forrest Jump Track and provided to Mundaring Christian College Secondary Campus for their mountain bike program.

Shire President Paige McNeil said the project was about making shared community spaces easier and safer to enjoy.

“This upgrade makes a real difference for people who regularly use Brown Park,” she said.

“Better access and safer parking means more of our community can comfortably enjoy the events, sport, and facilities that bring people together here.”

President McNeil said reusing materials across projects reflected the Shire’s commitment to responsible use of community resources.

“By repurposing materials wherever possible we are reducing waste and supporting other local projects at the same time. It is great to see these works also benefiting young people through improved facilities for local riding programs.”

The carpark upgrade forms part of the ongoing masterplan for Brown Park, helping ensure it remains a welcoming, functional space for the whole community to enjoy.
