Shire of Mundaring has welcomed recent State Government grants awarded to the Darlington and Stoneville Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades.
The funding forms part of a $70,000 grants program supporting volunteer bushfire brigades across Western Australia.
The grants will assist local brigades with equipment and resources that strengthen frontline response and improve safety for volunteers and the community.
Shire President Paige McNeil thanked the State Government for its support and acknowledged the vital role local volunteers play in keeping the community safe.
“Our community is incredibly fortunate to have dedicated volunteer bushfire brigades who give their time to protect lives and property,” President McNeil said.
“We thank the State Government for this funding and for recognising the important work our volunteers do across the Shire.”
“Supporting our brigades helps keep our community safe, and we remain committed to ongoing education and preparedness initiatives to help residents prepare their properties and reduce bushfire risk.”
The Shire works closely with local brigades to support preparedness efforts and ensure the community remains informed and ready during bushfire season.
Volunteer bushfire brigades play a critical role in protecting the Shire’s natural environment and supporting community safety across the Perth Hills.
