Nominations for the 2025 local government elections have closed, and it is now up to our community to decide who will represent them on Council.
Every elector has the chance to cast their vote and help shape decisions that guide our future. Ballot packs will arrive in letterboxes later this month and must be returned by 6pm on polling day, Saturday 18 October 2025.
Shire President Paige McNeil said local government works best when our community is engaged and have their say.
“Your vote is your voice in shaping the future of the Shire of Mundaring. The people you elect play a crucial role in representing our community and making decisions that impact our everyday lives, from local services and infrastructure projects to planning for the future.
“When your ballot arrives, take a moment to read through the candidates’ profiles, reflect on what matters most to you, and make your vote count. Every vote helps build an efficient, effective local government that delivers positive outcomes for our whole community.”
In the South Ward, nominations matched available vacancies so an election will not be held in this ward. Congratulations to Councillor Luke Ellery, who has been re-elected, and to Councillor-elect Ben Heptinstall, who will join Council following the election period.
Elections will proceed in the Central, East and West wards, giving residents in those areas the opportunity to choose their representatives.
