The event aims to bring the wider community together in a welcoming, festive and family-friendly environment, sharing our school facilities and the unique Hills learning environment. The Christmas markets will provide opportunities for local entrepreneurs, small businesses, makers and artists to share their products, talents and creativity with the local community, as well as allow our year 5 & 6 students to manage their own stall where they have developed and produced sustainable Christmas gift ideas. In the last hour of the event, talented local performing artists, musicians and groups will perform and lead the community in singing some favourite Christmas songs with our historic old school house as the backdrop. Families and community members will be encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or camp chairs, enjoy food and refreshments, brouse the markets and then settle under the gum trees to enjoy the carols together.
