(For adults)
Join us for this dynamic and entertaining talk on how to recognise the different birds in your garden in the Shire of Mundaring and beyond. Discover the exciting differences in their looks, calls and behaviour.
Did you know research shows people are happier the more bird species there are in their gardens? Yet many of us don’t know how to identify them. Can you tell our honeyeaters apart, for example? Some know the New Holland Honeyeater but not the White-cheeked, some the Brown Honeyeater but not the Singing. To add to the confusion there are also parrots, pigeons, cuckoos, wrens, robins and more that visit our gardens.
This brilliantly illustrated and informative talk will help you sort them all out! It is interactive, entertaining and practical and will increase your confidence in nailing the birds' appearances, calls and habits.
Our energetic tag-team of bird enthusiasts and gardeners, Mike and Rachel Green, will share their wealth of knowledge about our local garden birds. Highlighting the birds will be Rachel's not-to-be-missed bird photographs and videos and Mike's amusing imitations of bird behaviour and stories of his bird-watching exploits.
As a bonus you are welcome to bring photographs or recordings of birds in your garden for Mike and Rachel to identify.
This is a follow-up to the enthusiastically received talk Rachel and Mike gave earlier in the year on “How to attract birds in your garden”.
Bookings are essential for this free event via Humanitix. Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own cup for tea/coffee or water.
