Terms and Conditions
The purpose of the Bilgoman Aquatic Centre (BAC) Diving Lady Competition is to run a positive, community-led naming competition to celebrate her new SunSmart attire upgrades. The competition aims to engage the local community in a fun way while ensuring the final name reflects Shire of Mundaring (the Shire) values and is appropriate for all audiences.
Participants are encouraged to submit a name that will:
- be positive, family-friendly and appropriate for all ages
- reflect the spirit of BAC and summer in the Perth Hills
- be respectful and culturally sensitive
- help promote positive SunSmart habits
- not include names of real people, political references, personal jokes or slang, offensive meanings or commercial content.
The competition winner will receive a BAC Family Pool Pass and a Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive pack which includes a bag, towel, drink bottle, swimming goggles and sunscreen. The winner will be required to collect their prize from the Shire Administrative Building at 7000 Great Eastern Highway, Mundaring WA 6073.
The competition will run as follows:
- Shire of Mundaring will capture name suggestions from the community during the submission period.
- A small panel consisting of the Shire President, Shire CEO, Manager of Recreation Services and a representative from the BAC Management team will select three shortlisted names from the submissions that align with the Shire's community values and facility identity.
- The public will be invited to vote on their favourite shortlisted name during the polling period. There will be multiple channels to vote, including a poll on Facebook, in Microsoft Forms and at Shire facilities including BAC and the Mundaring Library. The intent of this multi-platform approach to polling is to ensure community members of all ages and all levels of digital literacy have an opportunity to participate.
- Shire of Mundaring will announce the winner through its various communications channels, including the website and social media.
Key dates include:
- Competition launches on Monday 15 December 2025.
- The submission period runs from Monday 15 December 2025 until Sunday 4 January 2026.
- Polling launches on Monday 12 January 2026.
- The polling period runs from Monday 12 January 2026 until Sunday 25 January 2026.
- The winner will be announced on or before Friday 30 January 2026.
