Additional Information

Middle School (Years 6-9) and Upper School (Years 10-12) are located at the Glen Forrest campus.

At Helena College, we are big enough to offer a wide range of opportunities for all children yet, with less than 800 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, still small enough for every child to be seen and heard.

Add to this, the Helena College Teaching and Learning Framework, together with our whole school camps programme, academic support, a focus on leadership development and highly experienced staff dedicated to teaching through respectful relationships.

Middle School

Year 6 is our main intake year at our Glen Forrest Campus and the beginning of Middle School (Years 6- 9).

Our Year 6 programme is  designed to meet their academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs through its whole child, inquiry approach. Like all children in WA, our students learn the content of the Western Australian curriculum. Simply put, the Helena College Teaching and Learning Framework is how the children are taught, not what they are taught.

Upper School

At Helena, our young adults in Years 10, 11 and 12 participate in an inclusive culture that values care, respect, compassion, integrity and responsibility.   They are supported by highly skilled and professional staff in class and through extra-curricular programmes.

As Upper School students transition through adolescence, our focus moves toward their life beyond secondary school as self-directed, lifelong learners.  The teaching and learning programme for all students involves gradually increasing academic challenges and a wider range of course choices.

Various leadership opportunities are offered to students via community service projects and for those wanting to avail themselves of significant leadership positions in Year 12.
