Fraser Park Playground Upgrade

Our Vision

The Fraser Park Playground upgrade will create a vibrant, welcoming and well-used neighbourhood space for local families.

The project will deliver a playground shaped by the community. It will support outdoor play, encourage social connection, and provide a safe and inclusive space for children of all ages.

By working closely with residents, the Shire is creating a park that reflects how the space is used and valued by the community.

Why This Project Matters

Fraser Park is well located within walking distance of homes and local schools. However, the existing playground is basic and does not meet the needs of the growing community.

Residents have told the Shire the space needs more variety, better shade, and improved play opportunities for children of different ages.

This project responds directly to that feedback. It will help create a more engaging and functional park that supports families, encourages outdoor activity, and strengthens community connection.

What’s Planned

The Fraser Park Playground Upgrade will transform the existing playground into a modern and engaging community play space.

Key features of the endorsed design include:

  • A large multi-level climbing and adventure play structure
  • A feature tunnel slide and interconnected play pods
  • New swing facilities catering to different age groups
  • Extensive shade sail coverage across the playground
  • Accessible pathways and improved movement through the play space
  • Sand-based play areas that support sensory and imaginative play, including opportunities for mud play and exploration
  • An open and visible layout that allows families to easily supervise children while they play

The design has been shaped by community feedback and balances adventurous play opportunities with accessibility, comfort and opportunities for creative outdoor play.

Project Timeline

Community engagement and consultation at the heart of the Fraser Park Renewal

Community helped shape the playground through community pop-ups, playground walkthroughs and online feedback opportunities. Community input informed the final playground design and this feedback was what playground designers were required to respond to in their submissions
Construction of the new Fraser Park Playground is scheduled to commence this November, bringing the community's vision to life.
The upgraded playground is expected to be completed and open for the community to enjoy, subject to weather and construction conditions with planning underway for an Opening Event to wrap up the renewal and pass the playground back to the local community.
