Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to make our community a better place? Nominations are now open for the 2026 Shire of Mundaring Australia Day Citizenship Awards. These awards are our chance to shine a light on the people and groups who make a real difference in the Shire, whether through recent achievements or a lifetime of service.

Nominations close Monday, 1 December 2025.

Categories for 2026 are:

  • Young Citizen of the Year (up to 30 years): celebrating young people (individuals or groups) making a significant contribution to the community.
  • Inspirational Volunteer: honouring volunteers whose commitment and generosity have had an outstanding impact.
  • Access Mundaring: recognising those working to create a more inclusive and accessible community for everyone.
  • Long Service: acknowledging individuals or groups who have given more than ten years of continuous service to the Shire community.

Shire President Paige McNeil said the awards reflect the best of the Shire’s spirit.

“Our community is full of quiet achievers, dedicated volunteers and inspiring young people,” President McNeil said.

“These awards are a chance to say thank you and to celebrate the heart and soul of the Shire, the people who give their time, energy and passion to others. I encourage everyone to nominate someone who deserves to be recognised.”

Nominees must not have received a Citizenship Award in the past five years and sitting members of State, Federal and Local Government are not eligible.

Nominations can be made online or by completing and returning this form to the Shire Administration Building or libraries.
