The sights and sounds of high-performance motorsport will return to the Perth Hills this month when the 2026 Tarmac West Rally comes through the Shire of Mundaring on Friday 18 September.

As part of the four-day rally event, competitors will tackle challenging stages through Parkerville and along the iconic roads surrounding Mundaring Weir, testing their skill and precision on some of Western Australia's most scenic and demanding terrain.

The Parkerville Special Stage will see competitors racing through the area between 10.00am and 11.20am, with local road closures in place from 9.30am until approximately 12.00pm.

The action will then move to the Kalamunda East Special Stage, which includes sections of Mundaring Weir Road, with competition running from 11.20am to 1.00pm. Roads will be closed from 10.00am until approximately 2.00pm.

Shire President Paige McNeil said the annual event had become a favourite on the local calendar, attracting visitors to the Hills while showcasing the area's unique landscape.

"Events like Tarmac West bring energy and activity to our Hills communities. They attract visitors, support local businesses and give residents the opportunity to experience a nationally recognised motorsport event right on their doorstep," President McNeil said.

"We appreciate the patience of residents who may be impacted by temporary road closures and encourage everyone to plan ahead, stay safe and enjoy the event from the designated spectator areas."

Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the official spectator locations and follow all event signage and directions from event officials. Motorists should allow extra travel time and plan journeys around the temporary road closures.
