Posted: 15/05/2026

Our Vision
The Great Eastern Highway and Seaborne Street intersection upgrade will create a safer, more efficient junction for the Parkerville community.
The project will improve traffic flow, enhance safety for all road users, and support the growing needs of the area while balancing infrastructure improvements with environmental care.

Why This Project Matters
The upgrade of the Great Eastern Highway and Seaborne Street intersection is a key infrastructure project for the Parkerville area. This busy junction serves local residents, commuters, and emergency services travelling along Great Eastern Highway.
- Improving this intersection will:
- Enhance safety for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists
- Improve traffic flow and reduce congestion
- Support the growing Parkerville and Mundaring community
- Provide safer access for emergency services
What’s Planned
The project includes several key infrastructure improvements:
- Intersection upgrade works at Great Eastern Highway and Seaborne Street
- Land acquisition of a small portion of land in Parkerville
- Service relocations to accommodate the new intersection design
- Some tree clearing on the western side of Seaborne Street
- Revised drainage design to minimise vegetation clearing impact
Main Roads Western Australia has revised the drainage design specifically to reduce the amount of tree clearing required. Environmental assessments are being conducted, and a Clearing Assessment Report will be published for public comment.
