The Mundaring Firefighters School celebrated 30 years of operation on Sunday 3 May, marking three decades of training and support for volunteer emergency service responders.
Established in 1996, the School has trained an estimated 9,000 people in bushfire response and related skills. The milestone highlights the important role volunteers play in protecting the community.
Shire President Paige McNeil said the anniversary reflects the strength of local partnerships and the commitment of volunteers.
“The Shire of Mundaring spans a large bushfire prone area in the Perth Hills, where preparedness and training are essential to community safety,” President McNeil said.
”Our community is safer because of the dedication of our volunteers and trainers who have supported the Mundaring Firefighters School over the past 30 years.”
The event included an official recognition ceremony and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, followed by afternoon tea.
