Councillor Luke Ellery has been re-elected as Deputy President of Shire of Mundaring Council following this week’s Ordinary Council Meeting.
Representing the South Ward, Cr Ellery is a third-generation resident of the Shire bringing valuable local knowledge and professional expertise to the role.
With a background in engineering, commerce and sustainability, Cr Ellery is passionate about achieving strong outcomes in waste management, environmental protection, community facilities and long-term financial sustainability.
Shire President Paige McNeil congratulated Cr Ellery on his re-election.
“Cr Ellery is a respected councillor whose leadership and insight continue to strengthen Council decision-making,” she said.
“I look forward to continuing our positive partnership as we work together for the benefit of our community.”
Cr Ellery said he was humbled and honoured to continue serving in the role.
“It’s a privilege to serve our community, seek the good of our Shire, and work with the President, CEO, and Councillors to ensure Council is effective in delivering on what our community needs.” he said.
The position of Deputy President is elected by Council every two years in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995.
