Shire of Mundaring acknowledges the festive season as a time for a break with family and friends. The Shire's facilities and operations may be closed, or working to reduced hours, which may result in delays to some services. If you experience any issues that require immediate attention over the closure, please call our after-hours line on (08) 9290 6666 for us to direct your query to the appropriate team.
The Shire President, Councillors and Staff wish you a happy and safe festive season and new year.
Please see below Christmas operational hours for December 2025 and January 2026.
Shire Admin Building
- Shire Admin Building will be closed Friday 12 December from 12:00pm - 4:30pm and will reopen on Monday 15 December.
- Shire Admin Building will be closed from Wednesday 24 December 4:30pm (cashier closes at 4:15pm), re-opening Monday 5 January 2026 9:00am.
Operations Centre
- Shire Operations Centre will be closed Friday 12 December from 12:00pm - 4:30pm and will reopen on Monday 15 December.
- Shire Operations Centre will be closed from Thursday 25 December, re-opening Monday 5 January 2026.

Perth Hills Mundaring Visitor Centre
- The Perth Hills Mundaring Visitor Centre will be closed on Thursday 25 December, Friday 26 December and Thursday 1 January 2026.
Libraries
- Both Boya and Mundaring Libraries will be closed on Friday 12 December from 12:00pm onwards and will reopen at 9:00am on Saturday 13 December.
- Both Boya and Mundaring Libraries will be closed on Wednesday 24 December from 4:00pm and will reopen on Monday 5 January 2026 at 9:00am.
Please note that the after-hours return chute will also be closed during this period. All current loans will be automatically extended until we reopen.
Lake Leschenaultia
Lake Leschenaultia will be open throughout the festive period. Canoe hire isn’t available on Thursday 25 December.
