Shire of Mundaring is proud to share that local singer-songwriter Elianie Watson has been named the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Robert Juniper Award for the Arts.
Elianie is a lifelong resident of the Shire and a talented musician. Already establishing herself in the Perth music scene, she regularly performs at headline shows and festivals and has performed alongside international and interstate acts like Thelma Plum and Drax Project.
Shire of Mundaring has committed to a three-year commitment towards funding the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts, contributing $5,000 each year to support this important award.
Shire President Paige McNeil said the award was an important way of recognising and supporting local talent.
“Arts and music are at the heart of our community in the Perth Hills, and Elianie’s success reflects the depth of talent we have here,” President McNeil said.
“Through our ongoing support of the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts, the Shire is proud to help local artists take the next step in their creative journey.”
Elianie plans to use the scholarship to create her second EP, helping elevate her artistic profile. The five-track EP will be released in September 2026. The scholarship will help support studio sessions with her producer, music collaborations and visuals like music videos, photo shoots and EP artwork.
“This award means a lot to me, as someone who has grown up in the beautiful hills, surrounded by such a close-knit community including those who have previously won this award as well. It's an honour to walk in their footsteps and receive this incredible support ahead of the new year.” Elianie said.
“Not only is this award affirmation that I am on the right path, but it is also an incredible opportunity to realise a lifelong dream of mine that is now made accessible because of the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts.”
Elianie’s passion for music and the arts is inspiring. Shire of Mundaring congratulates her on this achievement.
