The Shire of Mundaring proposes to make the Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2026 under the Local Government Act 1995.

The purpose of the proposed amendment local law is to repeal the Shire's standalone Signs Local Law and consolidate regulation of signs on local government property within the Local Government Property Local Law.

The effect of the proposed local law is to:

• repeal the Shire of Mundaring Signs Local Law 2009;
• amend the Local Government Property Local Law to introduce provisions regulating advertising signs on local government property;
• establish requirements for election signs on local government property;
• provide powers for the Shire to issue permits for advertising signs and impose conditions on permits;
• provide enforcement powers, including notices to remedy breaches, removal of non-compliant signs and recovery of associated costs; and
• amend the modified penalty provisions relating to signs on local government property.

A copy of the proposed Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2026 may be inspected at the Shire Administration Centre, 7000 Great Eastern Highway, Mundaring; at any public library within the Shire of Mundaring during normal opening hours and is available on the Shire's website at: www.mundaring.wa.gov.au.

Submissions on the proposed local law may be made to the Chief Executive Officer and must be received by 5pm on 9 October 2026.
