Shire of Mundaring Celebrates 61 New Australian Citizens

Mundaring Arena was filled with smiles, applause and proud family moments on Thursday 26 February, as 61 Shire of Mundaring residents became Australian citizens.

For many, it marked the end of years of paperwork, waiting and commitment. For their families and friends, it was a chance to stand beside them and share in a moment they will never forget.

Our newest citizens come from New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Vietnam, Scotland, Ireland, England, Brazil, the United States of America, Sweden, Pakistan, the Philippines, Germany, Afghanistan, Zambia, Estonia, Thailand, Canada, India and South Africa. Each person now adds their story to the story of our community.

In total, 146 people attended the ceremony, including conferees and their loved ones. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, with plenty of heartfelt congratulations and celebrations.

Federal Member for Bullwinkel, Trish Cook MP, attended to read the Minister’s Message. Adam Hort MLA, State Member for Kalamunda, and Steve Catania MLA, State Member for Midland, were also in attendance.

Citizenship ceremonies are always special, but they are especially meaningful when they take place in the community people now call home. Becoming an Australian citizen in the Shire of Mundaring is not just a formal step. It is a public commitment to be part of our community, contribute to it and help shape its future.

Shire of Mundaring congratulates all 61 new citizens and warmly welcomes them as they begin this next chapter in the Heart of the Hills.
