Why This Project Matters
Wooroloo Hall is a vital community space, home to local groups including the Wooroloo Cuppa, Chats and Crafts Group, the Wooroloo Volunteer Bushfire Brigade, and the Shire of Mundaring Mobile Library.
These upgrades will:
- Improve comfort for all users with new flooring and insulation
- Provide a modern, functional kitchen for community events
- Refresh toilet facilities for improved accessibility and hygiene
- Ensure the building is weatherproof and well-maintained for years to come
What’s Planned
The refurbishment project has delivered substantial improvements to the Hall, including a new kitchen, refurbished toilet facilities, a new roof, gutters and downpipes, upgraded insulation and various building maintenance works.
Together, these upgrades will enhance the experience of Hall users, improve comfort and accessibility, and help ensure the facility continues to support community gatherings, activities and events well into the future.
The final stage of the project involves the installation of new flooring throughout the facility, which is expected to be completed over the coming weeks. The Shire is also commencing preparations for the Hall's reopening and a community event to celebrate completion of the refurbishment works.

Community Engagement
The Shire has worked closely with the Wooroloo Cuppa, Chats and Crafts Group and the Shire's Mobile Library Team throughout the refurbishment project to minimise disruption and support the continuation of these important community services.
Working alongside the Wooroloo Volunteer Bushfire Brigade and the Shire's Emergency Management team, arrangements were established to temporarily relocate both the Wooroloo Cuppa, Chats and Crafts Group and the mobile library service to the Brigade building during the refurbishment works. This collaborative approach has enabled both services to continue operating throughout construction while maintaining important community connections and access to local services.
The relocation was made possible through the support of Brigade volunteers, who worked closely with the Shire and Hall users to facilitate the shared use of the facility. This successful partnership reflects the strong community spirit within Wooroloo and the commitment of local organisations to supporting one another during the refurbishment period.
Community members have also had opportunities to contribute to elements of the refurbishment, including the selection of some internal finishes and materials. As the project enters its final stages, Hall users are continuing to work with the Shire to plan a community-focused opening event that will celebrate the refurbishment works, welcome the community back to the Hall and mark the return of regular activities and programming.
