Current burning period

From 1 April 2026 until 31 May 2026, we enter the RESTRICTED burning period.

No burning is allowed on days when the Fire Danger Rating is High or above. This is also a condition for all permit holders

Burning without a Permit

Residents may burn one (1) pile of garden refuse, up to 1 square metre, between 6 pm and 11 pm without a permit, provided all of the following conditions are met:

• Only one pile may be burnt at a time.
• The fire must be fully extinguished by midnight (no heat, smoke, steam or ash).
• An adequate water supply must be available and capable of reaching the fire and beyond in case of escape.
• An able-bodied adult must be in attendance at all times.

Burning is not allowed:

• The Fire Danger Rating is High or above, or
• The wind speed exceeds 15 km/h.

Please be considerate of your neighbours and manage smoke to avoid any health issues for those surrounding you.

Any burning outside of these conditions requires a  Permit to Burn
