Restricted Burning Period starts Monday 6 May

The shire will enter the Restricted Burning period from Monday 6 May. Permits won't be available, but conditions apply. Visit the Burning Periods and Fire Danger Rating page to read the conditions.

Prohibited Burning Period Extended

The Prohibited Burning Period for the Shire has been extended until Sunday 5 May. To stay up to date with Burning Periods, Fire Danger Hazards, Total Fire Bans and Harvest and Vehicle Movement Bans, sign up to the Bushfire Information SMS Tool. Internal Combustion heaters for home heating may still be used during the prohibited burning period.

Annual Electors' Meeting Decisions

Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Electors Meeting on Wednesday 13 March at Boya Community Centre and raised a motion.

During the meeting, electors considered 19 motions all of which were carried. Residents raised a range of topics for consideration, including FOGO, North Stoneville Structure Plan 34 and upgrades to community facilities. At its Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 9 April, Council considered the 19 motions with recommendations in relation to each able to be viewed via the Council Meetings, Agendas and Minutes page.
