The Midvale Hub Child and Parent Centre was buzzing with excitement as hundreds of local families came together for the 2025 Baby Expo.
More than 600 community members joined in the fun, exploring information and services about pregnancy, babies and young children. With 117 exhibitors, there was something for everyone, from parenting advice and early learning resources to giveaways and hands-on activities.
The day began with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country from Clayton View Primary School students, supported by local Noongar man Coen Fowler on the didgeridoo. It was a warm and meaningful start to a day focused on families, connection and community.
Children enjoyed face painting, a cuddly animal farm, and sensory play activities, while parents chatted with local health, education and community service providers. Many families also took home keepsakes from free professional baby portrait sessions.
Shire President Paige McNeil said the event showed the power of community collaboration.
“The Baby Expo is a wonderful celebration of local families and the people who support them,” President McNeil said.
“The Midvale Hub team has created a space where parents, carers and services can come together, share experiences and build lasting connections. It’s these moments of support and community spirit that make Shire of Mundaring such a special place to raise a family.”
Exhibitors said they valued the opportunity to connect with families face-to-face and network with other local services. Visitors described the atmosphere as “welcoming”, “informative” and “so much fun for the kids”.
Shire of Mundaring extends its thanks to the Midvale Hub team, volunteers, local schools and community partners who made the event possible. With such positive feedback, planning has already begun to make the 2026 Baby Expo even bigger and better.
