Turf Weed Control Program - August and September 2025

Published on Tuesday, 19 August 2025 at 1:01:09 PM

Shire of Mundaring is committed to keeping our parks and sports fields safe, tidy and enjoyable for everyone.

During August and September 2025, turf areas at sports fields and parks across the Shire will be treated for broadleaf weeds, including bindii and burr clover.

As weather conditions are unpredictable, exact application dates cannot be confirmed. Licensed contractors, supervised by Shire staff, will carry out the treatments in line with safety requirements.

Safety measures in place

  • Signage will be displayed at each site in accordance with the Health (Pesticides) Regulations 2011.
  • Signs will remain in place until treated surfaces are dry. The public is asked not to enter the area while signs are displayed.
  • Once surfaces are dry, signage will be removed and the areas reopened for public use.
  • Shire staff will be on site during and after treatment to assist with any questions.

The product to be applied is a weed-specific, selective herbicide containing the active ingredients:

  • MCPA – 300 g/L
  • Clopyralid – 20 g/L
