Council appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Shire of Mundaring is pleased to announce it will welcome Jason Whiteaker as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Whiteaker has 29 years’ experience in local government. He spent 19 years at the Shire of Collie where he commenced as the finance manager and executive manager of corporate services before moving into the role of CEO.

Since 2013, Mr Whiteaker has been the CEO of the Shire of Northam, who have many similar issues to the Shire of Mundaring, such as bushfire risk and environmental management.

Mr Whiteaker said he was looking forward to joining the Shire of Mundaring and delivering on the aspirations of the Council.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to join the team at the Shire of Mundaring. I am really looking forward to working with the Council and community to deliver on their aspirations,” he said.

Shire President James Martin said Council was pleased to offer Mr Whiteaker the position and is confident he will be able to assist Council achieve their strategic objectives.

“Council and I are proud to welcome Mr Whiteaker to the Shire of Mundaring team, and we are looking forward to working with him on continuing to make the Shire an unrivalled place to live, work and play,” he said.

Mr Whiteaker will commence on Monday 2 October 2023.
