Glen Forest Sports Club is holding its annual Glen Fest fundraising event, an afternoon of fun and laughter, seeing some of the best local bands playing, stalls, children’s entertainment, and lovely local food. There will be 14 live local bands across 2 stages, food trucks, car & motorbike displays, kids activities, raffles, and the bar will be open.
Each year we hold this event to raise much needed funds for local communities. Last year our fundraising event raised over $6000 and we donated to the local Volunteer fire brigade.
This year we have partnered with Variety, the Children’s Charity, because we believe that all children deserve the same opportunities in life. All children should be able to follow their dreams and be the best they can be. No matter what life throws at them. No matter what their ability.
Each year, thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability, get support from Variety, the Children’s Charity, when they need it most.
Money raised will support:
- Variety Grants - Variety assists both individuals and organisations with the Variety Grants program which provides practical equipment for WA kids living with disability, sickness or experiencing disadvantage.
- The Variety Choir - an inclusive group for young people who share a love of singing, music and performing.
- The Variety Motor Mouth Program which helps children who have limited speech and rely on communication aids to express themselves through the support of therapists, volunteers, and families.
- Variety Sunshine Packs for every child displaced by family and domestic violence and/or under the care of Child Protection Services in WA.
- Hair with Heart National Program to help provide wigs for kids living with medical hair loss and other much needed equipment and programs.
- Variety Scholarships - The Variety Heart Scholarships program recognises the inspirational talents of WA kids living with disability, sickness or experiencing disadvantage by helping them to ‘chase their dreams’ within the areas of sport, the arts and education.
- Experiences - The annual Variety Kids Christmas Party puts smiles on the faces of hundreds of kids and families. Held at Adventure World each year, the exclusive event is for families and children within our community to enjoy a day together.
